PROJECT REFERAL
T-Mobile is a mobile telephone provider, owned by Deutsche Telekom (the T stands for Telekom). It operates several GSM networks in Europe and the United States. T-Mobile also has financial stakes in mobile operators in Central and Eastern Europe. Globally, T-Mobile has some 150 million subscribers, making it the world's seventh largest mobile phone service provider by subscribers and the third largest multinational after the United Kingdom's Vodafone and Spain's Telefonica.
AmSoft Systems created a User Centric Identity platform prototype for T-Mobile which gives its users a unified identity that the user has provenance over and one that he can assert whenever and wherever he/she chooses to.
In today's world, services own applications and applications own users. As a consequence, users are at the mercy of applications and services to exchange, assert and manage the data that rightfully belongs to the user (referred to as the Principal in this document). By way of this skewed ownership, user’s data and identity are fragmented and beyond their control.
It is this fragmentation of the User's Identity and the loss of control that the user has over his identity, which AmSoft's User Centric Identity platform chooses to address. The platform provides a mechanism to ingest domain specific profile data from multiple sources, harmonize, enrich it by using domain specific concepts, link it to the data available in the open world (linked data cloud) and store it for the user. It also provides means to keep the data synchronized with the originating source whenever possible. This gives the user a unified identity that the user has provenance over and one that he can assert whenever and wherever he/she chooses to.
