OVERVIEW
Current communication mechanisms available for mobile user like email, sms,
instant messaging and calendar have some inherent problems in it. Most of them
suffer from staleness after using it for couple of times. The reason being the
complexity to operate them, unable to update/modify once the information is
sent, unable to define the life of information, no control over the information
when they are pushed off from mobile and no way to recover back the information
if the mobile or SIM gets damaged.
AmSoft's Pass-It Notes is a groupware application that allows users to send
short, time-oriented messages to multiple users' mobile devices. However,
unlike email or SMS, users dictate who can and can not send the Notes to them.
Pass-It Notes could be described as the virtual or technological equivalent of
a "sticky note" that one might physically leave on your monitor. The purpose of
this groupware application is to allow specified users to send reminder and
status update messages to your desktop or mobile device. Unlike SMSs, the
Pass-It Notes application will take various messages and places them in an
easy-to-sort and easy-to-view format. Unlike instant messages, Pass-It Note
messages can both arrive on the user's desktop/ mobile device in near real time
or can be sent to arrive when the user logs on to the Internet or turns on his
phone.
Pass-It Notes are different from email as they are dynamic. Meaning that when a
sender updates a message to a user, the user sees only the most current status.
A fundamental differentiation of the Pass-It Notes application is the product's
ability to ONLY allow receipt of messages from known users. This means that not
only the Notes Sender can dictate who sees and who doesn't see the note but
also the receiver can define from whom he would like to get the information. So
what we get is a 2-way handshake between Sender and Receiver of notes where
both the parties agree to sharing the note.

KEY FEATURES
-
Always Up-To-Date Note: The note once created and shared to recipients can be
updated at sender's will. The recipients always get the updated note at their
mobile. The notes get automatically refreshed to all the receivers. To alert
the recipients for these changes a notification is sent to the recipient for
the updates and the notes updated are marked for easy recognition.
- Group
distribution of Note: Pass-It Notes allows the sender of the note to send the
note to multiple recipients. This is extremely valuable for coordination of
group or team activities (friends, sports teams, clubs, or other social
groups).
- Exercise Control on Note: The note sender has all the rights
on content as well as any subsequent updates on the note. The recipients can
only read and respond to these notes.
- Expire out-of-date Note: The
Notes that are created can have an expiration date. After this date the note
automatically disappears from recipient's Note's Inbox. This way the recipient
is prevented from the manually removing the expired notes and cluttering of the
Inbox with irrelevant notes.
- Centralized storage & powerful Share
and Storage framework for the Note: The notes once created are stored on
centralized Identity Server. The service uses Identity Server's powerful XNS
based framework to synchronize and share the notes to recipients
- Spam
Control for the Recipients of Note: The recipients that are defined for a Note
can always decide to receive the Notes from specified senders. For this
authorization control, Pass-It Notes uses the Identities authorization
mechanism to control the SPAM.
